Specifically, for co-generation projects, the energy price at the delivery point is VND1,634/kWh, equivalent to 7.03 US cents/kWh (the old price was VND1,220/kWh, equivalent to 5.8 US cents/kWh), according to the central exchange rate of Vietnam dong versus US dollar announced by the State Bank of Vietnam on 21 February 2020.
For others excepted cogeneration projects, the price at the delivery point is VND1,968/kWh, equivalent to 8.47 US cents/kWh, according to the central exchange rate of Vietnam dong versus US dollar announced by the State Bank of Vietnam on 21 February 2020.
The energy prices specified above do not include value-added tax (VAT) and are adjusted according to the fluctuation of the US dollar (equivalent to US cents/kWh) with the central exchange rate of Vietnam dong versus the US dollar announced by the State Bank of Vietnam on the date when the energy seller issues the payment invoice.
The biomass power projects in operation before 5 March 2020 are subject to the above-mentioned energy price from 25 April 2020 for the remaining time of the signed PPA.
The costs of energy bought from the above-mentioned biomass power projects shall be calculated and fully included in the input parameters of the annual electricity sale price project of Electricity of Vietnam. Those biomass power projects which apply the energy prices according to these regulations must not apply this price mechanism to energy output under other current regulations.
