Mr. Luan Quoc Hung - Head of Technical Department of EVNHCMC said that the application of CBM approach has been piloted by EVNHCMC in coordination with TNB (Malaysia) since October 2019. Up to now, the Corporation has grasped the CBM methodology such as: Failure Mode, Effects & Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and grading of equipment health index (CHI), based on which they can develop by themselves a process of repair and maintenance suitable for 110 kV substations and switchgears of the Corporation.
The Corporation has successfully piloted the application of CBM approach for four 110 kV substations, thereby promptly detecting risks that may cause incidents so that remedial actions can be taken in a timely manner.
Previously, the repair and maintenance of a substation was normally conducted on a periodic basis every 03 years, which led to unnecessary or untimely cases. The application of CBM will help streamline maintenance activities in terms of both technical and economical aspects, and specifically contribute to preventing incidents to ensure safe operation.
At the meeting, the delegates raised issues that need to be clarified by the consultant such as: There should be specific instructions for emergency cases subject to a separate procedure, if measurement results show abnormal trends; the supporting software for CBM (integrated in the PMIS management program) should be completed in an early manner.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Ngo Son Hai praised EVNHCMC for their activeness in the implementation as well as their specific analysis and evaluation of initial effectiveness of the application of CBM method in practice. Mr. Ngo Son Hai also requested that EVNHCMC should promptly complete a set of CBM process so as to be put into practice and replicated throughout the Group.
