The national power grid has reached the upland villages in Phieng Cam (Son La province)

Workers of Mai Son Power Department are guiding customers to use electricity safely

Right in the first days of 2021, Son La Power Company has cooperated with the project owner, i.e. Department of Industry and Trade of Son La province, and civil contractors to energize 11 rural electrification projects for 485 households in 11 villages including Na Va, Bon Po, Xa Liet, Tham Hung, Huoi Than, Luong Nghiu, Co Muong, Tang Luong, Pu Mau, Huoi Thung, Ban Cu in Phieng Cam commune, Mai Son district. The project of building 25.4 km of medium voltage power lines, 23.3 km of low voltage lines, 11 substations is under the project of the grid-connected rural electrification of Son La province in the period of 2016 - 2020.

Mr. Le Vinh Quang, Deputy Director of Mai Son Power Department stated that, because the roads are mainly open-way trails, the transportation of construction materials and electricity poles was very difficult. Mr. Cam Van Huong, Head of Ban Cu village, Phieng Cam commune shared: There is a total of 37 households in Ban Cu, 100% are poor. Having access to the national power grid, local people will no longer use oil lamps, they can buy fans, television sets, they can watch movies, watch TV programs on economic livelihood and agricultural production instructions, children have light to study, etc.

On the journey, the delegation moved to Bon Trot village, one of the most difficult and remote villages of the Phieng Chin commune. The joy on every face of the people on the first day of receiving the light from the national power grid can be clearly felt and seen.
