The power sector in the South attains the goal that 100% of the communes have been electrified

Thanks to acceleration of implementation schedule of projects, completion of project energizing, the Southern Power Company has accomplished its target to supply electricity to 100% of 2,510 communes and towns in 21 provinces and cities in the South.

In 2016, the Southern Power Company (EVN SPC) completed a lot of significant projects, including two projects for electricity supply from the national power grid to two communes in Kien Hai district, Kien Giang province, which are Lai Son and Hon Nghe islands. Furthermore, EVNSPC implemented and completed on schedule two projects for rural electrification by connecting to the national power grid for Hau Giang and Ca Mau provinces.

Also in 2016, EVNSPC executed 994 overhaul projects with the total costs of VND 785 billion. These overhaul projects helped secure electricity supply to overloaded areas and remarkably reduce power loss. So far, over 600 projects among these ones have been completed and energized all over the Company. Among which, there were 110 110 kV network projects, 509 distribution network projects, with the total amount of 1,766 km medium voltage power line, 2,924 km low voltage power line. Thanks to acceleration of implementation schedule of projects, completion of project energizing, EVN SPC has accomplished its target to supply electricity to 100% of 2,510 communes and towns in 21 provinces and cities in the South.

At the end of 2016, the total electricity amount dispatched to the Company was approximately 58 billion kWh, increasing by 10.5% compared to 2015; the power sales reached 55 billion kWh, increasing by 11.29% and achieved 100.58% of the assigned plan by EVN. The sale revenue of the whole Company in the year 2016 was VND 88,863 billion, raising by 13,9%; payments to the State budget was of nearly VND 558 billion, 23 % higher than the targeted plan. Mr. Duc affirmed that over many past years, EVNSPC had been one of the leading companies in accomplishing and exceeding the targets of payments to the State budget, strictly complying with regulations on tax reporting and tax payments.

By synchronous application of numerous technical and business solutions, the obtained results of auxiliary power consumption ratio during distribution of the Company have been increasingly improved. In particular, the auxiliary power consumption ratio in 2016 was 4.99%, lower than the target set by EVN (5%) and 0.2% lower than the year 2015.

Administrative procedure reforms, work style and method renovation, application of new technologies in production and business in order to shorten transaction time, creation of customers’ trust and satisfaction are approaches that have been adopted effectively by EVNSPC during the last year. As a result, electricity supply reliability indices have been gradually improved. In 2016, System Average Interruption Duration Index (SAIDI) was 1,658.06/ 1,676 minutes; Momentary Average Interruption Frequency Index (MAIFI) 0.2918/2.0; System Average Interruption Frequency Index (SAIFI) 6.81/7.92 times/customer.

Thanks to the above mentioned efforts, the average assessment points of 7 element groups relating to customer satisfaction have been gradually improved over the years; from 6.39 point in2013 to 7.63 points in 2016.
