EVN aims to become a digital enterprise to best serve customers VN

Up to now, all electricity services provided online have reached level 4, the highest level of e-Government, and at the same time, EVN is the leading unit in providing services on the National Public Service Portal with the number of electricity service inquiries accounting for more than 50% of the total of all ministries/sectors/localities on the Portal.
In the first 11 months of 2021, power corporations have received over 13.9 million electricity service requests, of which the number of inquiries received directly at customer transaction offices only accounts for 0.34%; inquiries received through the Customer Care Center, the Center for Public Administration, and the Public Service with the figure of over 12.57 million inquiries, equivalent to 99.66%. The percentage of customers paying electricity bills in the non-cash form in the first 11 months of 2021 reached 81.45%, 11.14% higher than that in 2020. The percentage of the payment in this form throughout EVN reached 94.72%, 3.0% higher than the performance in 2020 (91.72%).
Currently, EVN is researching to connect and integrate EVN's customer management system with the National Population Database in providing electricity services. Electricity customers, when carrying out electricity service procedures, will be checked, and automatically and electronically authenticated with documents such as: people's identity card, citizen identification card, permanent residence, or temporary residence book, etc., to sign and perform contracts.
Restructuring the power industry towards competition
EVN Deputy General Director – Vo Quang Lam said: On 9 June 2020, the Prime Minister approved the policy on building a competitive electricity retail market. Right after that, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 2093/QD-BCT dated 7 August 2020 approving the Design Scheme of the competitive electricity retail market. The scheme proposes the model for the market with 3 phases, including: Phase 1 (until the end of 2021): the preparation phase; Phase 2 (from 2022 to 2024): allowing electricity customers to buy power on-spot electricity market and Phase 3 (after 2024): allowing customers to choose electricity retailers.

Power production and business activities are part of the restructuring process of the competitive wholesale electricity market and then the competitive retail electricity market. Accompanying this roadmap is the process of restructuring power trading units, changes in functions and tasks, and competitive pressure will increase when new non-EVN wholesalers and retailers appear. It is identified by EVN as an opportunity to accelerate the process of innovation and restructuring of the Electricity of Vietnam in a modern and professional manner.
EVN is continuing to focus on implementing the Project on Research and Application of Technology of Industrial Revolution 4.0 in production and business activities and the Digital Transformation Project. EVN aims to continue strong digital transformation in the fields of production and business activities in order to strive to soon become a digital enterprise and build a modern, sustainable and effective economic group, becoming a digital business, a solid foundation for EVN to adapt and maintain its development facing socio-economic fluctuations, especially before the impacts of Covid-2019 pandemic.
