Vietnam Electricity honored at "Typical Taxpayer Honoring Ceremony"

On 5 October 2020 in Hanoi, the General Department of Taxation held the Typical Taxpayer Honoring Ceremony during 30 years of companionship and development with the country's tax agency (period 1990-2020) and started up the program of Tax agency joining hands to accompany and support businesses.

Vietnam Electricity (EVN) is honored to be one of 30 businesses selected to honor on this occasion.

These enterprises are honored as typical enterprises in their activities and fields of operation, in their territories of operation; enterprises which had made many contributions to socio-economic development of the country. In addition, businesses on the list to be honored shall own a good history of compliance with tax laws; an operating history over many years to ensure a true reflection of the nature of stability and contribution of taxpayers to the country.

In the past years, while facing many challenges in ensuring power supply and financial balance, EVN overcame all difficulties and successfully completed its task of ensuring sufficient power supply for  social-economic development, security of national defense and people's life. EVN developed a project and organized a synchronous and effective implementation of solution groups  to increase revenue, save costs, implemented profitable production and business activities, improved financial capacity, preserved and developed its State capital.

Specifically, the annual revenue of the whole EVN always reached and exceeded the plan; annual production and business cost savings were equivalent to 7.5% of normative costs, and in 2020, EVN is striving to reach a 10% cost savings. Other tasks of cost optimization, financial indicators all met and overfulfilled the plan. The average growth rate of labour productivity in the 2016-2020 period is 10.4%/year, of which the labour productivity of power production and business of the whole EVN in 2020 is estimated at 2.6 million kWh/person. The rate of power loss of the whole EVN is now approaching advanced countries in the world, decreasing from 7.94% in 2015 to 6.49% in 2019. Power supply reliability indicators have improved significantly year by year.

Particularly, EVN has always strictly complied with the tax law. For the past 10 years, EVN has paid tax up to tens of thousands of billion VND each year, for example, in 2019, the value of tax paying by EVN to the State budget reached VND26,248 billions.
