During the meeting, Mr. Shantanu Chakraborty highlighted ADB’s extensive experience in implementing energy projects across various countries, particularly with state-owned and private enterprises, including those in Vietnam. Leveraging this expertise, ADB expressed its aspiration to participate in EVN’s projects, such as hydropower plant expansions, pumped storage hydropower, floating solar power, offshore wind energy, power transmission and distribution grids, and cross-border grids for electricity import-export.

Acknowledging ADB’s interest, Mr. Dang Hoang An praised ADB’s track record and experience. He emphasized EVN’s appreciation for ADB’s support and its desire for continued collaboration. EVN values assistance not only in financial resources but also in vision, expertise, and technical support from ADB and other global financial institutions.

The two parties also discussed the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project and proposals to streamline administrative procedures, aiming to reduce project timelines while adhering to Vietnamese legal requirements.
