At the meeting, Mr. Yun Yo Han shared that Doosan Enerbility (formerly Doosan Heavy Industries) is actively shifting its focus from coal-fired power to cleaner energy technologies, including gas power, wind power, and nuclear energy, in response to the global energy transition trend. Doosan expressed its intention to expand cooperation with EVN, particularly in the application and development of advanced gas turbine technologies.
He also noted that Doosan is currently researching and manufacturing 10MW wind turbines at its Changwon plant in South Korea, which have been internationally certified. The company is also developing a new generation of 14MW wind turbines. Mr. Yun assessed that Vietnam’s wind conditions are quite similar to those of South Korea, making the 10MW turbine highly economical and well-suited to Vietnam’s wind power development strategy.
EVN Chairman Dang Hoang An expressed appreciation for Doosan Enerbility’s capabilities and longstanding cooperation experience, especially in large-scale power projects previously implemented in Vietnam. EVN’s leadership welcomed Doosan’s interest in expanding collaboration in the fields of gas power, nuclear power, and wind power.
He emphasized that, in the context of Vietnam accelerating the implementation of the adjusted National Power Development Plan VIII and aiming for carbon neutrality by 2050, cooperation with leading global energy technology groups such as Doosan Enerbility will play a vital role in promoting the development of clean energy sources, ensuring national energy security, and supporting the country’s sustainable growth objectives.
Doosan Enerbility is an integrated energy and industrial company operating in four main sectors: new energy solutions, power plant equipment and services, engineering–procurement–construction (EPC), and industrial materials manufacturing.
