In his remarks, Mr. Brian McFeeters spoke highly of the robust partnership between Vietnam and the United States over the past three decades, emphasizing the current momentum of bilateral ties—particularly in the energy sector. He noted that Vietnam’s economy is undergoing vigorous growth, which has driven a significant surge in electricity demand. As such, U.S. companies are eager to deepen their collaboration with EVN to effectively implement strategic projects that will help meet Vietnam’s long-term energy needs.

Representing EVN, Chairman Dang Hoang An acknowledged US-ABC’s vital role in fostering economic collaboration across Southeast Asia, including Vietnam. He underscored EVN’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for foreign investors, firmly grounded in compliance with Vietnamese law.

He further stated that there is tremendous potential for cooperation between EVN and U.S. enterprises, particularly in light of the country’s eighth Power Development Plan (PDP8), which places strong emphasis on expanding the national transmission grid, accelerating renewable energy development, and deploying energy storage systems. EVN welcomes innovative partnership initiatives aimed at supporting Vietnam’s energy transition, strengthening energy security, and achieving the national commitment to net-zero emissions by 2050.

During the meeting, U.S. businesses introduced a range of advanced technological solutions, including AI-powered weather forecasting tools, drones, system optimization software, and technologies that enhance grid integration of renewable energy sources. In addition, they presented specialized personal protective equipment tailored for electrical workers.

The US-ASEAN Business Council (US-ABC) is a non-profit organization that represents nearly 130 U.S. corporations operating throughout the ASEAN region. It serves as a strategic bridge between the American business community and regional governments, advancing cooperation in trade, investment, and economic development.
