Completion of upgrading capacity of West Hanoi 500kV Substation to 1,800MVA

The second 500kV transformer of the West Hanoi 500kV Substation was successfully energized by the National Power Transmission Corporation in coordination with relevant units on the evening of September 15, thereby increasing the station's total capacity to 1,800MVA and contributing to ensuring a stable and safe power supply for the Hanoi capital.
This is a 500/220/35kV transformer with a capacity of 900MVA, part of the Project to Install the second transformer of West Hanoi 500kV Substation (in Hung Dao commune, Hanoi City, formerly Dong Quang commune and Quoc Oai town, Quoc Oai district), invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation.

The project, once completed, will contribute to ensuring a stable and safe power supply for the capital of Hanoi, meeting operational requirements in the N-1 incident situation, while receiving power from hydropower plants in the Northwest region, supporting existing 220kV substations, reducing power loss, and improving the production and business efficiency of the National Power Transmission Corporation.
