In his remarks, EVN Chairman Dang Hoang An expressed sincere appreciation to agencies and partners who have accompanied EVN over the years. He emphasized that the support from partners has been a strong source of encouragement, helping EVN overcome difficulties and challenges to successfully fulfill its assigned tasks.
In 2025, extreme weather conditions, storms, and floods caused severe damage to infrastructure, including the power system. Nevertheless, EVN’s employees stood united, overcoming hardships to ensure a stable, reliable, and safe electricity supply for the people.
At the same time, EVN maintained a very large volume of investment and construction activities, with total disbursement reaching approximately USD 5 billion—the highest level among state-owned economic groups and corporations. Many key projects and works were completed, contributing to the expansion of generation capacity and strengthening of the national transmission system. To date, Vietnam’s power system ranks second in Southeast Asia and 20th globally in terms of installed capacity.
These achievements have laid a solid foundation for EVN to enter 2026, the first year of implementing Vietnam’s 2026–2030 socio-economic development plan. EVN has set important goals to ensure electricity supply for national socio-economic development and people’s livelihoods, meeting double-digit growth demands, while continuing to pursue objectives related to efficient energy use, environmental protection, green transition, innovation, and sustainable development.
Despite the many challenges ahead, EVN remains committed to making every effort to accomplish its missions and contribute to the country’s prosperity, while expressing confidence in continued support and companionship from its partners on this development journey.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Mariam J. Sherman congratulated EVN on its positive operational results in 2025. Despite ongoing pressures from the global and regional energy context, EVN has maintained business efficiency and recorded profits for two consecutive years, an important signal demonstrating its adaptability and effective management in a highly challenging operating environment.
EVN has also successfully fulfilled its core mission of ensuring safe, stable, and reliable electricity supply nationwide, meeting rapidly growing demand and providing a solid foundation for Vietnam’s socio-economic development. Power system reliability plays a fundamental role in improving quality of life, strengthening business confidence, and enabling long-term investment decisions, thereby promoting sustainable economic and social development.
Alongside this, EVN has made notable progress in infrastructure investment and development, achieving important results in the construction and expansion of the national power system, enhancing generation capacity and transmission networks.
As in many countries worldwide, Vietnam’s power sector is entering a period of strong transformation. In this context, close coordination among state management agencies, EVN, financial institutions, and development partners is essential, together with a long-term vision and consistent, persistent implementation.
Ms. Mariam J. Sherman emphasized: “On this occasion, I would like to reaffirm the World Bank’s strong commitment to continuing to accompany and work closely with EVN and all partners present here today.” She stressed that the strength of cooperation lies not only in individual projects, but more importantly in joint efforts to build a resilient, flexible, and future-ready power system—capable of reliably supplying electricity for a growing economy, responding promptly to change, and delivering long-term value to the people of Vietnam.
