The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Nguyen Tai Anh – Vice President of EVN and Mr. Huynh Quang Hai – Deputy General Director of PVGAS, with the participation of specialized departments and relevant units from both sides.
During the meeting, representatives from PVGAS provided detailed information on the progress of the LNG supply project for the Quang Trach II and Quang Trach III thermal power plants. Specifically, PVGAS anticipates completing the internal assessment of the Feasibility Study (FS) report and submitting it to the Ministry of Industry and Trade in August 2026.

According to PVGAS, the company recently collaborated with the Power Project Management Board No. 2 (EVNPMB2) to conduct a field survey at the Quang Trach Power Center, exchanging preliminary information on pipeline routes, together with the locations of the LNG Receiving Facility Stations (LFS) and the Gas Distribution Station (GDS), and gas delivery points within the Quang Trach Power Center's land area. The parties involved, including PVGAS PMC, Quang Trach Thermal Power Plant, and EVNPMB2, also worked together and shared information to facilitate the implementation of the LNG supply project for the Quang Trach II and III power plants.
At the meeting, the parties focused on discussing the synchronization of the gas supply project's progress with the investment schedule for the power plants. According to the current plan, Quang Trach II is expected to require gas for trial operation starting in April 2029. EVN requested PVGAS to continue reviewing and researching appropriate solutions to ensure the gas supply meets the plant's operational needs.
Technical details were also discussed by both sides, including the agreement on regasification parameters such as flow rate, pressure, and temperature for supplying gas to the Quang Trach II Thermal Power Plant, as a basis for finalizing the design and consideration study report. EVN assigned its specialized units to closely coordinate with PVGAS to quickly finalize the technical data, ensuring that the project design requirements are met.
In addition, both sides agreed to continue coordinating in determining the pipeline route, location, and area of the gas station within the Quang Trach Power Center land; and to maintain a mechanism for regular exchange between technical, investment, and commercial stakeholders to promptly resolve any obstacles arising during the implementation process.
Regarding the draft gas sales agreement (GSA), EVN and PVGAS will continue to exchange and finalize the relevant contents to reach an agreement soon, serving the overall progress of the LNG supply project for the Quang Trach II and III thermal power plants.
The Quang Trach II and Quang Trach III LNG power plant project cluster (located at the Quang Trach Power Center, Phu Trach commune, Quang Tri province), with a total capacity of approximately 3,000MW, will provide an important additional power source for the national power system, helping enhance operational flexibility, support the integration of renewable energy, and reduce environmental emissions. The projects are invested by EVN and managed and implemented by EVNPMB2.
