The peak of the 2025 dry season is approaching, Power Generation Corporation 2 (EVNGENCO2) has been implementing many effective solutions to ensure that power plants are always ready to meet the mobilization requirements of the national power system.

On 13 February 2025, the Board of Directors of EVNGENCO2 issued a Decision to establish a Steering Committee to ensure electricity supply in the 2025 dry season, headed by the President and CEO of EVNGENCO2. The tasks of the Steering Committee are to propose solutions, direct implementation, inspect, urge, and supervise the assurance of fuel; power generation to meet the output according to the mobilization method (hours/day/week/month); ensure the availability of generators; quickly hand any problems that occur. In particular, EVNGENCO2 regularly monitors and grasps the status of generators. If any abnormalities or defects arise, EVNGENCO2 will directly correct them and put the generator into operation to supply power as soon as possible.

EVNGENCO2's subsidiary units have implemented many solutions to ensure availability and reliability, and are determined to ensure power supply in the dry season. Hai Phong and Pha Lai Thermal Power Plants have prepared sufficient fuel for dry season operations. They in coordination with Dong Bac Corporation and Vietnam National Coal – Mineral Industries Group sign a coal purchase contract for 2025. Can Tho Thermal Power Company also focuses on maintaining and repairing equipment, maintaining oil inventory, and ensuring continuous operation to mobilize when the national power system needs it.

Up to now, EVNGENCO2 has ensured operation and maintained high reservoir water levels for hydropower plants to meet system mobilization in the 2025 dry season. Hydropower plants in close coordination with the units manage and operate reservoirs in the same river basin, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of localities on the water resources situation and the operational requirements of the power system to exploit water resources economically, ensuring harmony between regulating water levels according to the chart, meeting the tasks and requirements of supplying water to downstream areas and generating power according to actual needs.

As of 16 March 2025, the total production of EVNGENCO2 reached more than 2.76 billion kWh. According to the plan assigned by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and EVN, by the end of June 2025, EVNGENCO2 needs to generate more than 8 billion kWh. To ensure the implementation of the plan, in addition to technical solutions, EVNGENCO2 has also launched an emulation movement to successfully complete the plan tasks during the dry season months and the whole year of 2025.
