EVNGENCO3 needs to best utilize all resources to ensure electricity supply in 2025

It was one of the instructions of Mr. Dang Hoang An - Secretary of the Party Committee and chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Electricity (EVN), at the Conference on reviewing the performance in 2024, implementing tasks in 2025 of Power Generation Corporation 3 (EVNGENCO3). The conference took place on the afternoon of January 12 in Ho Chi Minh City.

EVN Chairman of the Board of Directors Dang Hoang An requested that the Corporation best utilize all resources to ensure electricity supply in 2025, further implement cost-saving measures in production and construction investment activities, reduce fuel consumption costs, and reduce the auxiliary rate of the power plants.

EVNGENCO3 is also requested to proactively ensure gas and coal supply for electricity generation, strengthen management to ensure a production environment, promote investment in solar power projects on irrigation reservoirs, and participate in pumped storage hydropower projects, etc.

In 2025, electricity generation output will be over 30 billion kWh

Report on the Party's work performance review, Mr. Vu Quang Sang - Member of the Standing Committee of the Corporation's Party Committee said that in 2024 the Corporation's Party Committee and the leadership of the Corporation have drastically led and directed the construction of the Party Committee and fulfilled the Corporation's political mission of ensuring safe and uninterrupted electricity generation. Regarding targets for Party building work: in 2024, the Corporation completed and effectively implemented resolutions and directives of the Party Central Committee and superior Party Committees. 100% of party organizations completed their tasks well, admitting 14 people to the Party, reaching 200%, exceeding the target. Completed 54/56 tasks of the work program, and completed 05/05 tasks of the inspection and supervision program.

Regarding electricity generation, according to Mr. Le Van Danh - General Director of EVNGENCO3, in 2024 the electricity generation output of the entire Corporation reached 26.437 billion kWh, or 91.95% of the plan approved by the General Meeting of Shareholders, 113.92% of the plan of EVN/Ministry of Industry and Trade. The power plants basically operated stably, meeting the dispatching needs of the power system, especially in the peak months of the 2024 dry season, contributing to completing the mission of electricity supply for socio-economic development.

During the year, the Corporation carried out 9 overhaul projects and many other maintenance projects, all completed with satisfactory quality, successfully and ahead of schedule. EVNGENCO3 took over the operation and maintenance of Phu My 3 Power Plant on March 1, 2024, under the O&M Management Service Contract with EVN and currently is prepared to take over the O&M of Phu My 2.2 BOT Power Plant in accordance with EVN's instructions, expected to be transferred from February 4, 2025.

In construction investment activities, the Corporation aimed at investing in clean, green energy projects by seeking cooperation opportunities to secure LNG supply for gas turbine power plants; signing a cooperation agreement to develop an offshore wind power; Ninh Binh ICE flexible power plant; converting to biomass fuel and increasing the lifetime and environmental friendliness of power plants.

The Corporation's power plants have always ensured strict compliance with regulations on environmental protection, and monitoring indicators are within standard limits. The ash and slag consumption rate of coal-fired power plants in 2024 reached a high level such as Mong Duong 1 Thermal Power Plant having a rate of 129%, and Vinh Tan 2 Thermal Power Plant reaching more than 104% of the generated volume. Notably, the completion of installation and testing of the ash and slag separation line on the slag yard with a processing capacity of 500,000 m3/year at Vinh Tan 2 Thermal Power Plant is expected to be officially put into operation in the first quarter of 2025.

EVNGENCO3 further promoted the application of science and technology, IT, and digital transformation, effectively applying management software, RMS, and RCM remote operation monitoring programs for generating sets; building and deploying the Workflow system; upgrading the Elogbook software in power plants, etc.

The Corporation restructured part of the loan of Mong Duong 1 Power Plant project (USD 81.5 million) with domestic commercial loans, contributing to reducing financial costs. EVNGENCO3 was honored with the Top 20 Best Annual Reports - non-financial industry group at the Listed Enterprise Voting, with the participation of nearly 600 businesses. On December 31, 2024, the Commission for the Management of State Capital at Enterprises approved the equitization settlement of the parent company of Power Generation Corporation 3 - Joint Stock Company.

In 2025, with the theme "Safe, stable and efficient operation in electricity supply", EVNGENCO3 sets a generation output target of 30.9 billion kWh. The employees will strive to do their best and successfully complete the assigned planned tasks.
