EVNHANOI inaugurates "Lighting up the border" project in Lao Cai

On August 17th, in Lao Cai, the Hanoi City Power Corporation (EVNHANOI), in coordination with the Hanoi City Farmers' Association, held an inauguration and handover ceremony for the "Lighting Up the Border" project to the people of Muong Khuong commune.

This is a solar-powered lighting project constructed along 4.5km of road connecting the villages of Lao Chai - Nam Chay, Lao Chai - Muong Khuong, and Choan Van in Muong Khuong commune, Lao Cai province. The project includes 123 poles with 150 solar-powered lights, each with a capacity of 200W. In addition to the inter-village roads, the lighting system is also installed near the community center and the kindergarten.
The project was implemented within the framework of the "Hanoi Farmers' Solidarity" program, showing solidarity and sharing with the people of Muong Khuong commune, with a total construction cost of VND 430 million. Of this, the Hanoi City Farmers' Association and EVNHANOI contributed 150 sets of lights worth VND 350 million; local people contributed VND 80 million in cash and labour.
Upon completion, the project directly serves 164 households with 835 residents. The solar-powered lighting system not only illuminates the roads at night but also facilitates travel, daily life, and education for the people; and helps maintain security and order in the border area.
Following the inauguration ceremony, the system was handed over to the villages for direct management, maintenance, and regular servicing to ensure long-term lighting effectiveness.
