Delegates cut ribbon and energize Nam Cam 110kV Substation in Nghe An Province
The Nam Cam 110kV Substation in Nghe An Province, invested by EVNNPC, was constructed in Nghi Long Commune, Nghi Loc District, Nghe An Province. It is a semi-indoor, semi-outdoor type substation, consisting of two 110/35/22kV 40MVA transformers, with one transformer installed in this phase. The 110kV transmission line connecting the substation to the Cua Lo – Nghi Thiet 110kV line has two circuits, with a total length of over 1.13 kilometers. The project is classified as a Group C energy facility and a Level II construction.
The investment and commissioning of the Nam Cam 110kV substation and transmission line will ensure a stable power supply, enhance the transmission capacity of the grid in Nghi Loc District and surrounding areas, and support electricity supply for the Nam Cam Industrial Park. This, in turn, facilitates socio-economic development, attracts investment, and creates job opportunities for local residents.

Ms. Helga Margarete Barth, Ambassador of Federal Republic of Germany to Vietnam, delivers speech
Speaking at the energizing ceremony, Ms. Helga Margarete Barth – Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Vietnam – emphasized that the pace of development in Vietnam’s power system over the past 30 years has been remarkable. Power losses on the grid have been continuously reduced, and the energy system has become less carbon-intensive.
She also noted that over the past 15 years, Germany has supported Vietnam, specifically Vietnam Electricity (EVN) and its subsidiaries, in modernizing energy infrastructure. This year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Germany, making the energizing ceremony of this project even more meaningful.

Mr. Luong Minh Thanh – Deputy General Director of EVNNPC – delivers speech
According to Mr. Luong Minh Thanh, Deputy General Director of the Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC), alongside the Nam Cam 110kV substation project in Nghe An Province, the project "Efficient Power Grids in Medium and Small Cities – Phase 2" (KfW3.2) has contributed to upgrading the power infrastructure managed by EVNNPC across several Northern provinces such as Phu Tho, Bac Ninh, Nghe An, Nam Dinh, Lang Son, Vinh Phuc, and Hung Yen. As a result, power quality has improved, and people's living standards in remote and rural areas have gradually been enhanced.
To date, the total value of concessional loans from the German Government through KfW to EVNNPC has reached nearly EUR 273 million, equivalent to more than VND 7,000 billion. According to EVNNPC’s leadership, to meet the growing socio-economic demands, the Corporation has been investing around VND 90,000 billion in grid development during the 2021–2025 period and aims to invest over VND 100,000 billion in the 2026–2030 phase.
Therefore, EVNNPC hopes to continue receiving support from international partners, particularly the valuable cooperation of the Government and people of the Federal Republic of Germany, as well as the German Development Bank – KfW.
