Over 107,000 tons of ash from the Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant were consumed in the first half of 2025, accounting for more than 89.3% of the total generated ash.

In the first half of 2025, the total ash volume generated by the Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant (Vinh Tan 4 TPP) was 119,860 tons, of which 107,108 tons were consumed, leaving approximately 12,751 tons stored.

To achieve these results, in recent times, the Party Committee and leadership of the Vinh Tan 4 TPP have implemented a synchronized set of solutions, focusing on adhering to the ash consumption plan approved by EVN, as well as executing various other solutions such as completing procedures to use the temporary port for ash export, submitting a proposal to EVN for tendering the ash disposal at the ash yard, and continuously seeking contractors to consume the ash.

The Youth Union of the Vinh Tan 4 TPP also proactively proposed and collaborated with relevant units to implement a youth project utilizing concrete mixed with fly ash from the plant to construct local roads, thereby contributing to strengthening communication efforts related to ash consumption activities.

Notably, the ash data management has been ensured with transparency and traceability, increasing the trustworthiness of ash consumption contractors and regulatory agencies.

Ash is the byproduct remaining after coal combustion at thermal power plants, consisting of fly ash and bottom ash. When properly treated, ash can be reused as building material or for land reclamation, contributing to environmental protection. Enhancing ash consumption efficiency is part of the strategy for clean production, resource conservation, and moving towards a circular economy model for sustainable development.
