On December 23, the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), the Central Power Projects Management Board (CPMB), in coordination with relevant units, successfully energized the  AT2 500kV transformer at the Pleiku 2 500kV Substation, increasing its capacity from 450MVA to 900MVA, thereby raising the substation's capacity to 1,800MVA.

The project of upgrading the capacity of the Pleiku 2 500kV Substation was implemented within the existing Pleiku 2 500kV Substation premises (without expanding the substation area) in Gào commune, Gia Lai province.

This is a special-grade, Group B energy project, with the National Power Transmission Corporation as the investor, CPMB managing and operating the project, and Power Transmission Company 3 taking over it for operation.

The commissioning of the project is of great importance in meeting the power transmission needs of hydropower and renewable energy plants in the province and the region; ensuring stable, long-term, and reliable power supply for socio-economic development in the region; reducing power losses in the transmission grid, thus increasing production and business efficiency.
