99.9% of households in Hoa Binh province have access to electricity

That is information announced by Ms. Do Nguyet Anh - General Director of Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC) at the meeting between Vietnam Electricity (EVN), Northern Power Corporation and Hoa Binh province on the situation of power supply in the locality, in the afternoon of 17 October 2019.

Hoa Binh Province is supplied power from Hoa Binh and Xuan Mai 220kV substations and eight 110kV substations with a total capacity of 356MVA. In the period of 2011-2018, Hoa Binh province has been implemented with many projects,  by EVN/EVNNPC, of investment in building power grids, renovating low-voltage and rural electricity grids with a total investment of about VND 1,500 billion. In 2019 alone, the total value of invested capital is about VND 195 billion.

EVN/EVNNPC has ensured power  supply for the province's socio-economic development and people's daily needs, with an average power growth of 18.7%/year between 2011-2015 and 9.55% in the period 2016-2018. Up to now, there are 210/210 communes, wards and towns having power from the province, 238,872/238,973 households have access to electricity.

Some key power projects are being invested by EVN/EVNNPC such as 110kV transmission line supplying power to Xuan Thien Light Powder Lime Plant (to be completed in 2020); Yen Thuy 110kV transmission line and substation (to be completed in 2020); Ky Son – Luong Son 110kV wind power (40km long, to be completed in 2021). Other projects under the planning of electricity development will be considered and invested by EVNNPC in accordance with the load development needs in the province.

EVNNPC leaders also proposed Hoa Binh province to continue to create favourable conditions as well as support the Corporation and its affiliates in site clearance compensation, ensuring sufficient land fund for power works to be invested and constructed in accordance with the approved plan; continue to support the electricity sector in propaganda, inspection and supervision of the implementation of power saving program in the locality; strengthen the intensive propaganda among the people about the responsibility to ensure the safety of high-voltage grid works; issue more strict sanctions for violation acts of high-voltage grid safety corridors.

At the meeting, Mr. Bui Van Tinh - Secretary of Hoa Binh Provincial Party Committee said that the investment in developing the power grid in the province is to serve the socio-economic development of the province, so that the localities will support and commit to maximally assist EVNNPC. Regarding the situation of violating grid safety corridors, the province will require its localities to perform more drastic actions in handling violations.
