From these initial successes, in 2021, Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) decided to widely apply this tool at all power companies in the Central - Central Highlands region.
This abnormal index warning application has quickly met the urgent needs of customers, especially in the period of hot weather. According to information from the Customer Contact Center of Central Power Company, from the beginning of April 2021 up to now, the switchboard 19001909 has received 2,965 calls from customers asking about the phenomenon of high electricity bills. This comes from the fact that the central climate is entering the hot season, the demand for power increases, especially this is also the time when many localities recommend that people limit going out of their homes to prevent the Covid -19 pandemic, so the intensity of using electrical appliances in the house is getting greater. With the control tool of abnormal power output, both the power unit and the customer are warned at the earliest time, thereby, the unit promptly checks and informs the customer to adjust, avoiding the status of too high increase in the electricity bills, causing difficulties for customers.
Mr. Nguyen Quang Hung - Deputy Head of Sales Department of EVNCPC - said that in addition to the increasing trend of power usage in the hot season by customers, the tool also helps promptly detect and handle cases of increasing power output due short circuit behind the meter. Only in the first half of May 2021, this tool has helped EVNCPC to detect and assist customers to check more than 74,000 cases of increase in abnormal power index, in which, it has supported customers to detect and handle 56 cases, the line behind the meter was short-circuited, both to overcome the power loss for customers and to handle the risk of electrical accidents among the people.
It is known that currently, EVNCPC is continuing to perfect the solution to automatically send warning messages to customers when there is an abnormal increase in the power index, and at the same time, research to integrate this tool into the customer care application. “EVNCPC Customer Care” so that customers can proactively monitor the power consumption index. This is one of the practical and effective application solutions when EVNCPC perform "digital transformation" to better serve customers.
