From December 2015, Binh Dinh power company installed 3,500 units of RF–Spider in Phuong Mai peninsula, Quy Nhon City. This is an advanced meters data collecting solution using the RF-Mesh technology. Within 9 months of 2016, Binh Dinh Power Company continued speeding up the application of RF-Spider. Thus, Quy Nhon City is the second one after Dong Ha City, Quang Tri province to be installed 100% RF-spider electronic meters with more than 75,427 customers.
The RF-Spider system is an instrument which helps customers to monitor their daily energy use and automatically alert when any surge in the energy use or abnormal index occurs; automatically combines data with Customers Management Information System (CMIS) for billing, shortening time for data collection, issuing bills and ensuring the transparency in power business.
On the other hand, RF-Spider also helps the power sector to timely detect faults, promptly monitor power loss rate of public substations and operation situation of power substation at each location; improve power quality and reliability; reduce non-technical power loss, forecast load demand, improve operation and management capacity.
Especially, when the RF-Spider system being put into operation, the number of labors will be decreased, labor productivity and efficiency will be increased and investment cost will be cut down, etc. Simultaneously, it will meet the requirements for modernizing the power metering system in accordance to the development roadmap for smart grid of Vietnam Electricity.
The RF-Spider system at Central Power Corporation (CPC):
* To be tested from end of 2015
* To be widely deployed from early 2017 in 13 provinces of the Central Region. Up to now, there are 834,611 customers of CPC using RF-Spider based electronic meters, accounting for 47% of CPC’s total customers equipped with electronic meters.
