Contract Signing Ceremony for Vinh Tan 4 Expansion Thermal Power Plant
Vinh Tan 4 Expansion Thermal Power Plant owned and invested by Vietnam Electricity, managed by Power Generation Corporation No.3 (EVNGENCO 3), is located at Vinh Tan Power Complex in Vinh Tan commune, Tuy Phong district, Binh Thuan province. The project has been approved to be added in Power Development Master Plan VII and included in the list of urgent investment projects in the period of 2013 - 2020.
The plant’s installed capacity is 600 MW, adopting supercritical technology, using imported coal. The plant is scheduled to be put into operation by the end of 2019, projected to supply about 3.6 billion kWh per year to the national power system and the Southern region. The selected contractor is the Joint Venture of Doosan - Mitsubishi - PECC2 - Pacific. These are EVN’s reliable partners who have participated in constructing a lot of power generation projects in Vietnam during the past years.
At the ceremony, Vice Minister of Industry and Trade Mr. Hoang Quoc Vuong stressed that Vinh Tan Power Complex is the biggest power one in the country so far with the total installed capacity of approximately 6,000 MW. The plants and projects within Vinh Tan Power Complex hold significant roles in supplying electricity to the South. Therefore, the project’s participants must mobilize required resources, promoting their activeness and creativity to implement the project on schedule and efficiently.
