EVN President and CEO Tran Dinh Nhan spoke at the meeting
At the meeting, the two parties discussed power purchase plans for a number of power plants, including the Song Hau 1 Coal Fired Thermal Power Plant project (Hau Giang province) with a capacity of 1,200MW (600MW x 2) invested by PVN. With the contracted electricity price in the commissioning phase of the plant, EVN will soon deploy the power purchase at PVN's request.
The leaders of EVN and PVN also spent a lot of time discussing the modification of power purchase agreements (PPA) for Ca Mau 1 & 2 power plants (located in U Minh district, Ca Mau province). These power plants have a total capacity of 1,500MW, being put into commercial operation since 2008, managed and operated by PetroVietnam Ca Mau Power Company (a member unit of PetroVietnam Power Corporation - JSC).
PVN's President and CEO Le Manh Hung spoke at the meeting
These PPAs have been negotiated and signed by EVN and PVN since January 2008. At the meeting, the two parties discussed and resolved outstanding issues in modifying the PPAs for Ca Mau 1 & 2 power plants to participate in the electricity market.
After the meeting, the leaders of the two parties agreed to keep on discussing, negotiating and strengthen the coordination to work out solutions and directions for working in the coming time, in order to ensure the mutual benefits of the parties, in compliance with the law and for the general development goals of the energy sector in Vietnam.
