EVN has secured electricity supply for the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA GAMES) – Vietnam 2021 in a safe and stable manner

In the past 2 weeks, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) and a number of member organizations have secured a safe and stable electricity supply for the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA GAMES) – Vietnam 2021.

Contributing to the success of the 31st  SEA Games, EVN has secured electricity supply in an absolutely safe and stable manner to serve competitions as well as many related activities of the Games. Electricity supply has been secured safely and stably for not only competition venues, but also all places of accommodations and activities of athletes, referees, service staff, press reporters and senior leaders of member countries, press conference locations, logistics, etc. in 12 provinces/cities. The power system was operated safely, reliably and stably; no incidents, fires, and electrical accidents occurred during the 31st SEA Games.

Before that, in order to best prepare for electricity supply to serve the 31st SEA Games, the investigation and inspection of power grids, and the formulation of electricity supply plans for the 31st SEA Games have been carried out by EVN and its member organizations in a very early manner, many days before the official event took place. In addition, EVN's member organizations actively coordinated with and supported the organizing committee to investigate and inspect internal power systems at relevant locations, at the same time, many power companies gave advice so that competition areas were equipped with additional equipment such as generators, UPS, lighting systems, etc.; emergency response plans were established to secure electricity supply in case natural disasters occur. In fact, during the 31st SEA Games in the past 2 weeks, heavy rains or thunderstorms occurred many times in some places, etc., so the emergency response plans were brought into play effectively.

To ensure electricity supply in the best way to serve the 31st SEA Games, member units of the Northern Power Corporation and Hanoi Power Corporation arranged thousands of intensive work shifts, together with required equipment and facilities, at all competition venues and relevant key venues. Officials, engineers and workers were mobilized to be ready to "react quickly" 24/24h, securing that electricity was secured smoothly and safely all the time to serve the 31st SEA Games.
