EVN intends to implement digital transformation in which sector?

On 22 October 2020, in Hanoi, EVN's General Director Tran Dinh Nhan chaired a meeting on goals and fields of digital transformation to be implemented by Vietnam Electricity by 2022.

The goal that EVN had proposed in digital transformation was to master the technology, own a modern IT system, and have a highly specialized team, capable of deploying applications to serve the needs of management, operation, business and customer care to become a leading digital enterprise in Vietnam. By 2022, EVN would basically complete digital transformation and operate under the digital enterprise model, Head of EVN’s Telecommunications & Information Technology Department Nguyen Xuan Tuan said.

Digital transformation at EVN will focus on some fields: technical management, business and customer service, internal management, construction investment and project management, telecom&IT infrastructure.

EVN’s General Director Tran Dinh Nhan emphasized the importance of each employee's perception of digital transformation. Each of them needs to understand clearly: why EVN have to implement digital transformation, what are the goals when implementing the digital transformation plan? It is necessary to have a definition of digital transformation in the specific case of Vietnam Electricity, with clearly explained contents, so that each employee can perform the job in the right direction.

The General Director directed that the EVN's digital transformation plan needs to be holistic, systematic and logical. When building the plan, it is necessary to get opinions from the units to ensure practical suitability when implementing the work. At the same time, it is necessary to set out specific digital transformation tasks and schemes, with detailed scale, scope and schedule...

EVN will give priority to urgent and highly effective fields to implement digital transformation first. At the same time, EVN needs to have a long-term digital transformation orientation, not just limited to specific goals of 2022.

EVN’s General Director required each units to consider hazards and risks when implementing digital transformation. The digital transformation should ensure a positive impact on the governance, production and business activities of EVN to develop well, to ensure the goal of improving productivity, quality and efficiency throughout EVN.
