EVN leaders work with Vietnam Consumer Protection Association

On May 23, in Hanoi, EVN’s Vice President Vo Quang Lam worked with the delegation of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Consumer Protection Association (VCPA) led by Dr. Duong Dinh Giam - Chairman of the Association. The two sides discussed cooperation opportunities to ensure and enhance the benefits of electricity customers.

EVN strives to ensure power supply to serve customers' needs.

At the meeting, EVN informed VCPA about the power supply situation. In the first months of the year, EVN has ensured the power supply to serve the country's economic and social development and people's daily life. Commercial electricity output in the first 4 months of 2024 reached 86.124 billion kWh, an increase of 14.29% over the same period in 2023.

EVN proactively has many solutions for power supply in 2024. The Group has updated the calculation of the power supply plan, power system operation in 2024 and the power supply plan for the peak months of the dry season (April, May, June, and July) submitted to the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) and approved by MOIT for adjustment in Decision No. 924/QD-BCT, of which the total power system output is 310.6 billion kWh, an increase of 9. 2% compared to that of 2023.

EVN also informed VCPA about the situation of construction investment, infrastructure development, improving power system capacity, and so on.

Regarding propaganda work on electricity saving and load adjustment, in recent times, EVN has coordinated with functional agencies and local authorities to strengthen propaganda on electricity saving, in which focusing on implementation of propaganda measures suitable for each group of electricity customers. Power corporations have signed commitments to save electricity according to Directive No. 20/CT-TTg with more than 1.37 million customers in the administrative and public sectors; public lighting; industrial production and trade - services, and so on.

Strengthen cooperation, towards the satisfaction of electricity customers.

In the current context, EVN requests VCPA continue to pay attention and coordinate with the Group to strengthen propaganda to mobilize people and businesses to use electricity effectively and economically and participate in electricity demand side management program (electricity load shifting, load adjustment, etc.) according to the Government's policies, through the Association's branches and members.

At the meeting, the two sides also discussed specifically promoting cooperation opportunities in the future, how to coordinate to achieve the best results, and working towards the same goal for the benefit of electricity customers and consumers.
