Delegates attending training conference on environmental management and protection in 2024
Opening the conference, EVN Vice President Ngo Son Hai said that in recent years, Vietnam Electricity has always paid attention to and focused on implementing environmental protection work with the spirit of grasping thoroughly, complying with, and strictly implementing legal regulations. In 2022, the Law on Environmental Protection 2020 came into effect with many new breakthroughs, promoting community and enterprises’ role in environmental protection activities. The practical application of the Law on Environmental Protection 2020 and most recently the Law on Water Resources Management 2023 along with guiding Decrees and Circulars shows that there are many changes compared to previous regulations. Legal regulations on environmental protection are increasingly strict, requiring each officer in charge of environmental management and protection at units to regularly improve their knowledge and professional qualifications.

At the conference, officers and experts from the Department of Environmental Pollution Control, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment disseminated the topic: Legal regulations on environmental protection applicable to units under EVN; experiences in identifying subjects required to carry out environmental protection procedures; and guidelines for implementing reports on environmental protection work. Along with that is a topic on regulations and experiences in performing procedures for preparing, submitting for approval, and applying for environmental licenses and environmental registration.
