EVN promotes an emulation movement for performing tasks in 2019

6 groups of key tasks for emulation in the whole EVN in 2019 are jointly promoted by the President and CEO of Vietnam Electricity, and the Chairman of Vietnam Electricity Union at the Joint Directive No. 01/CT-EVN issued on January 2, 2019.

Vietnam Electricity selects its theme of the year 2019 as "Improving the efficiency of power system and electricity market operation" in order to meet the electricity demand for socio - economic development of the country, optimally operate power plants and power grids, enhance corporate governance, optimize costs and make production - business profitable. This year marks the 65th year of establishment and growth of Vietnam's Revolutionary Power Industry (December 21, 1954 – December 21, 2019).

Among 6 groups of key tasks for emulation promotion, EVN sets specific targets such as: Power sales will reach and exceed 212 billion kWh, up 10% compared to 2018; the total power loss: 6.7%; the labor productivity will increase by more than 10% compared to 2018; etc.

EVN will maintain its optimal, safe and economical operation of the national power system, ensuring sufficient power supply for the socio - economic development and daily life of the people; effectively exploiting renewable energy sources (sun power and wind power) in isolated, remote and island areas in order to enhance on-site power supplies; make plans ready to respond to adverse situations caused by natural disasters and unexpectedly climbing loads.

The Group will secure performance of investment projects, both generation and grid projects, especially those for supplying electricity to the South, on schedule and with satisfactory quality; well implementing environmental protection measures in construction and operation of power projects; effectively and efficiently utilizing capital sources to adequately meet the demand for investment in generation and grid projects, etc.

With the tradition of solidarity and the wisdom to overcome difficulties and challenges, the President and CEO of EVN and the Chairman of Vietnam Electricity Union called for all employees to actively organize emulation movements in order to accomplish the assigned tasks, by formulating emulation criteria, registering for emulation, reviewing and evaluating results to encourage and reward collectives and individuals for making excellent achievements on the occasion of the 65th  anniversary of Traditional Day of Vietnam Power Sector.
