In 2016, EVN secured sufficient power supply to the socio-economic development of the country.
The sale revenue of EVN as a whole estimates to achieve VND 264,680 billion, increasing by 12.9% compared to 2015.
The electricity output self-generated and procured by EVN reached 176.99 billion kWh, equivalent to 10.8% higher than the year 2015. The power sales of the whole EVN increased to 159.45 billion kWh, or by 11% against the year 2015 and exceeding 350 billion kWh than the planned. Of which, the domestic power sales estimate to reach 158.3 billion kWh, growing by 11.2%.
Particularly, the electricity sales to industry – construction sector accounted for 53.5%, residences and administration sector representing 34.4%; trading sector, hotels, restaurants 5.5%; agriculture 2.3%; and other customer categories 4.2%.
Among the customer categories, power sales to trading sector, hotels, restaurants and to industry – construction sector have the highest growth rate, which are 15.7% and 10.75% respectively.
The power quality has been improving progressively. In the whole EVN, the System Average Interruption Duration Index (SAIDI) during the year was 1,579 minutes, decreasing by 25% compared to 2015. The System Average Interruption Frequency Index (SAIFI) was 10.23 times per customer, 23% lower than the last year. The Momentary Average Interruption Frequency Index (MAIFI) was 1.94 times per customer, 4.35% lower than the year 2015. The reliability indexes of the five power companies were better than the planned ones.
One of the outstanding achievements in the business activities of EVN in 2016 was the improvement of access to electricity index. The average time for electrification of the medium voltage grid in five power companies is 6.52 days, shorter than the targeted norm (10 days). EVN’s great efforts have brought Vietnam to the 96th position among 190 countries in terms of the access to electricity index, moving five levels upward in comparison with 2015.
In 2016, EVN properly implemented bill payment collection, with the payment rate reaching 99.97%, significantly contributing to assurance of money flows for its operations. The power companies have diversified their bill payment methods to facilitate customers’ payments wherever they find convenient.
EVN’s endeavors have been appreciated by customers. In 2016, the customer satisfaction index of EVN reached 7.69/10, or 0.42 point higher than 2015 (7.27). The five power companies were evaluated by customer at above 7.5 point on average.
The stable and reliable power supply by EVN has helped promote trading areas, tourism and assisted the country in realizing their industrialization – modernization course.

- Generated and procured electricity output: 197.2 billion kWh, increasing by 11.4% compared to 2016;
- Power sales: 177.59 billion kWh, increasing by 11.5% compared to 2016;
- SAIDI: 1,183 minutes; SAIFI: 10.7 times; MAIFI: 2.4 times;
- Time for access to electricity (power companies’ procedures): ≤10 days.
