EVNCPC should strive to become first digital enterprise unit of EVN

That is the task assigned by the Chairman of EVN’s Member Council Duong Quang Thanh to Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) in 2019 at the Conference on deploying the planned tasks of this unit organized on 14 January 2019.

“Reaching finish line” in 2018 with many impressive achievements

 In 2018, EVNCPC properly implemented rural electrification, the power supply was performed to 100% of communes in 13 provinces in the Central and Central Highlands regions, adequately meeting the demand of power for socio-economic development and daily life of people. The commercial power output of the corporation  in 2018 reached 17.55 billion kWh, surpassing 2.08% of the set plan. The production power output reached 159.17 million kWh, including hydropower, diesel and solar power. The power grid was safely and reliably operated, in which power loss reached 5.12%, decreasing by 0.18% compared to 2017.

The Member Council’s Chairman specifically noted the serious study and incorporation of technological applications into all management, production and business activities  implemented by EVNCPC. The unit has extensively implement the installation of electronic meters and modern remote measurement system RF-Spider with online signal rate of 99.15%, towards developing a smart power grid. At the same time, the corporation has effectively applied hotline repair technologies with more than 6,200 times of repairs in 13/13 power companies, operated Remote control centers, etc., contributing to improve the reliability of power supply. The System Average Interruption Duration Index of each customer has been 846 minutes, decreasing by 429 minutes compared to 2017.

EVNCPC is the first power corporation under EVN to complete the digitalization of customer records and customer information on the Google maps platform.

In 2018, EVNCPC made an obvious remark in improving the quality of electricity services. Time duration of handling procedures of the Power sector in the work of electricity access was only 3.4 days/work, equivalent to less than 50% of the planned time assigned by EVN (7 days).

The corporation effectively implemented convenient forms of electricity bill payment in 13 Central provinces, with the collected revenue through banks and intermediary organizations reaching over 86%. Customer care center of EVNCPC effectively served customers through channels of switchboard, e-mail, webchat, customer care application with about 980,000 service turns, increasing by nearly 30% compared to 2017. Fulfilling rate of customer requirements reached 100%.

Efforts in improving electricity services of EVNCPC have been reflected through the satisfaction of power users. Accordingly, the assessment point of customer satisfaction for the corporation  has reached 8.01 points, increasing by 0.13 point compared to 2017. This is the first year that EVNCPC has achieved over 8/10 points.

Internal administration of EVNCPC has been significantly improved thanks to applying achievements of Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0) in management and operation activities. With the spirit of emulating in working and production, the labour productivity of EVNCPC has been improved, the commercial power output/person has reached 1.831 million kWh/person, increasing by 13.4% compared to 2017, surpassing 6.08% of the annual plan as assigned by EVN.

Applications of IR 4.0 will be focused on testing and implementation by EVNCPC in administration, production and business activities such as: Applying artificial intelligence to process images, improve the efficiency of human resource training and customer care (chatbot), etc. The corporation  will continue implementing to digitize field works, operations, complete customer data and conduct data exploitation and analysis. The management of operation, production and business based on technology is targeted at by EVNCPC as: By 2025, 50% activities of the corporation  will be automatically initialized, handled or transferred to the settlement department. By 2030, this automation rate will reach 80%.

Some targets for 2019 plan of EVNCPC:

- Production power: 179.67 million kWh

- Commercial power: 19.05 billion kWh

- Power loss: 4.7% (1 year ahead of its road map)

- SAIDI: 402 minutes

- Transferring 100% 110kV substations to be operated in un-manned mode

- Electricity access index: ≤ 07 days/work

- Labour productivity: 1.88 million kWh/labor, 410 customers/labor

- Investment value: VND 7,323,382 million
