EVNHCMC mounting nameplate for the work of South Saigon - District 8 220kV line

On 31 July 2019, the Trade Union of Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC) organized the nameplate mounting for the line to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Vietnam Trade Union’s Establishment (July 28th 1929 - July 28th 2019) and commemorating 65 years of Power Sector Traditional Day (December 21st 1954 - December 21st 2019).

The total investment in South Saigon - District 8 220kV transmission line is over VND 780 billion with the construction scale including a mix of 220kV and 110kV underground and overhead power lines.

The line’s length is over 6.5km, connecting South Saigon 220kV Substation to District 8 220kV Substation; transmitting load from Nha Be and Phu Lam 500kV stations to supply power for Phu Dinh, Chanh Hung, Hung Vuong, Tan Hung 110kV substations.

The work was energized and put into operation from June 23rd 2019, making contribution to strengthening the capacity of supplying power to District 8 and the surrounding areas; avoiding overload for Nha Be and Tao Dan 220kV substations; moreover, reducing load for the central area and improving the power supply reliability of Ho Chi Minh City power system.

On this occasion, EVNHCMC’s leaders also granted awards to individuals and teams making outstanding achievements in the construction process of the line.
