EVN has implemented this project in order to formulate the standards and system of capacity assessment for EVN’s expert positions in 6 areas: Optimization of electricity system; Automation (hydropower plants; thermopower plants; transmission and distribution); Thermal power (operation and maintenance); Electrical experimenting; Electrical construction consultancy and project management.

Currently, the units have selected and introduced 384 candidates in 6 areas to participate in the training course of professional titles. These are officials and engineers under 45 years of age, who are capable, enthusiastic, passionate in study and have at least 7 years of working experience in their respective professional fields, including some Managers of scientific research projects at the Corporation Level or higher.

According to EVN’s Deputy General Director Vo Quang Lam, building and developing a team of experts who are capable of meeting requirements for development, affirming EVN’s positions is an urgent need, in the context that Vietnam’s power system is developing rapidly in both scale and technology. At the same time, the leading countries in the region are still on the rise, which further requires EVN to have a strong internal force and gradually reduce its dependence on partners, especially foreign partners, to reach the target of being ranked “Top 4 ASEAN”.
The project is also a premise for EVN to own a team of highly-qualified experts in the field of energy, contributing to helping EVN gradually reach the goal of building EVN as a technology-qualified enterprise with modern management and high specialization; effective and sustainable operation and taking a key role in assuring the sufficient power supply for socio-economic development and national defense and security.
