Proactive and creative operation of the power system

The calculation and formulation of the operation method of the power system are always fully performed by EVNNLDC periodically or whenever the power system has sudden fluctuations. EVNNLDC energizes, and put into operation many new power projects and grids and ensures a safe, continuous, stable, reliable, and quality power system operation. By the end of 2022, the total number of power plants that the EVNNLDC has control over is 339 power plants. EVNNLDC has performed 22,885 manipulation slips on the 500/220/110kV power grid safely, quickly, and accurately.

Especially, from 1 June 2022, EVNNLDC has integrated the automatic generation capacity control (AGC) system with communication and exchange data to the power system and market operation planning system. (DIM AGC). Thereby, increasing automation and reducing the order execution time of power plants. This is also one of the tasks of digital transformation and technology application of Industry 4.0 that EVN assigned to EVNNLDC.
The operation planning and mobilization schedule for the power market are carried out under regulations, ensuring the safe and continuous operation of the power system. Currently, there are 108 power plants directly participating in the power market with a total installed capacity of 30,937 MW, accounting for 38% of the total installed capacity of power plants.

The information technology infrastructure system operates safely, reliably and without incident in the context that the power system continues to thrive with a 30-minute power market transaction cycle, thereby promoting well its role in serving the operation of the power system and power market.
Improving quality of load forecasting
EVNNLDC needs to further improve the quality of load forecasting in the context that renewable energy sources account for a high proportion and are difficult to forecast; strengthens coordination with Cambodia Power Company to deploy solutions to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the two countries' power systems...

Electricity quality of EVNNLDC in 2022:
- Frequency deviation index (FDI): 0.006%, better than 2021 (0.014%) and better than the power plan assigned by EVN (0.15%).
- Voltage deviation index (VDI) of 500kV power grid: reaching 0.032%, better than 2021 (0.073%), and better than the year plan assigned by EVN (3.0%).
- VDI index of 220/110kV power grid in all regions: better than the annual plan (0.1/0.65).
