According to the report of EVNNPT, in the first 7 months of 2023, the actual power loss rate is 2.26%, down 0.22% over the same period in 2022 (2.48%), 0.11% higher than the planned target (2.15%).
To this end, EVNNPT has promoted the application of science and technology in transmission grid management and operation. Typically, the Corporation has completed and deployed the application of digitizing grid information on PMIS technical management software, GIS system, substation operation management software, line operation management software, and experiment management software. In addition, EVNNPT has made full use of operational support tools such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), lightning warning monitoring systems, fault locators, etc.

Currently, EVNNPT has been making a plan to ensure the transmission grid operation in the last months of 2023 and the following years. A number of key solutions to ensure the operation of the Central-North transmission grid include strengthening equipment inspection, heat detection, response, load-carrying operation monitoring of lines and substations, etc.
Regarding power loss, EVNNPT has requested their member units to arrange personnel fully dedicated to power loss management and grid calculation; organizing training and retraining to improve the power loss management expertise. At the same time, the Corporation has implemented solutions to reduce grid failures, not tolerating subjective failures, quickly detecting and dealing with failures to restore operating mode, and ensuring transient failures are automatically closed.
Regarding construction investment activities, EVNNPT has invested in developing new power grids, rehabilitating the old power grids to prevent overloading, and ensuring their operation on time or ahead of schedule, which is an important solution for power loss reduction in 2023.
