Cam Ranh 220kV substation project was built in Cam Thanh Bac commune, Cam Lam district, Khanh Hoa province. The 220kV transmission line consists of 4 circuits with a length of 9.4km, passing through Cam Thanh Bac, Cam Hiep Nam and Cam An Bac communes of Cam Lam district, Khanh Hoa province, connecting this station to the Nha Trang - Thap Cham 220kV existing line and Nha Trang – Thap Cham 220kV line under construction.
Cam Ranh 220kV substation is a new construction substation with two 250MVA transformers. According to the plan, in this phase, only one transformer will be installed. However, due to the actual power demand in the region as well as the requirement for renewable energy sources releasing, the National Power Transmission Corporation assigned SPMB to immediately implement the project of installing the second transformer of the substation.
Cam Ranh 220kV substation completed and energized
The completion of the Cam Ranh 220kV substation project and the connection line is very important in ensuring the power supply for Cam Lam district in particular and Khanh Hoa province in general. The project simultaneously releases the renewable energy sources in Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan areas to the national power system; reducing power loss on the transmission grid, increasing the power production and business efficiency of EVN in general.
