The Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) has assigned Tra Vinh Electric Power Company (PC) to invest in the construction of more than 42km of medium and low voltage lines, and the installation of substations with a total capacity of 4,098kVA. It is expected that the works will be completed, energized and put into operation by the first quarter of 2020.
As of early October 2019, in Tra Vinh province, there were 12,362 households using power for shrimp farming, mainly used for water fans to raise hi-tech intensive and intensive shrimp farming. However, the spontaneous situation of doing the industrial shrimp farming by households is increasing day by day, not following the planning and long-term development orientation, so the supply of power from low voltage grids and transformer stations of the existing power supply projects can not meet the power demand.
Facing this situation, Tra Vinh PC has been mobilizing and supporting households in the locality to implement power-saving solutions in shrimp farming such as using LED lighting to save electric power; conduct replacement of U-shaped support for multi-impeller shaft (generating oxygen) with rotating shaft rollers; adjust the rotation axis of the fan assembly to be coaxial with the motor rotation axis; use a gear reducer to adjust the rotation speed as required; Install compensation capacitor to raise the carrying capacity of the wires, improve and improve the quality of voltage for the power load.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hoang - Vice Director of Tra Vinh PC said, in 2018, EVNSPC also invested VND38.96 billion to build 5 power supply works for industrial shrimp farming in Chau Thanh, Cau Ngang, Duyen Hai Districts and Duyen Hai township, with an investment of 31.63km of medium voltage lines, 60.85km of low voltage lines and stations with a total capacity of 8,905kVA.
