EVN’s President and CEO welcomed the leader of GE Power

On February 18, 2019, in Ha Noi, EVN’s President and CEO Tran Dinh Nhan welcomed and worked with Mr. Massimo Gallizioli - Regional Sales General Manager Asia Pacific, Steam Power System - GE Power.

At the meeting, EVN’s President and CEO Tran Dinh Nhan highly appreciated the reputation and capacity of GE in the energy area, as well as acknowledged the optimistic outcomes of the bilateral cooperation between the two groups over the past time.

To ensure sufficient electricity for national socio-economic development needs in the coming time, Viet Nam will develop more power generation projects such as: liquefied natural gas (LNG) power, solar power, wind power plants, etc. At present, 93 solar power plants with a total capacity of 6,000MW have concluded power purchase contracts (PPA), and hundreds of other solar power plants are being considered to be included in master plans by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

According to Mr. Tran Dinh Nhan, this trend is an opportunity for GE in Viet Nam's power market.

Affirming that Viet Nam was a crucial trading market of GE, Mr. Massimo Gallizioli said that GE is currently involved in constructing many power plants.

At the same time, GE has participated in maintaining and improving the reliability of coal fired thermal power units, improving the operation efficiency of power plants and optimizing costs. GE expressed its expectation to promote the cooperation with EVN in developing new power projects in Viet Nam, as well as strengthening the bilateral relation between the two groups in the coming time.
