Electric Power Trading Company successfully completes the tasks in 2022

On 23 December, in Hanoi, the Electric Power Trading Company (EPTC) held a Conference of summarizing the work performance in 2022 and implementing the tasks in 2023. With excellent completion of the task, the company was awarded the Flag "Leading unit of the emulation movement" by Vietnam Electricity in 2022.

Reporting at the conference, Mr. Le Khac Hung - Deputy Director of EPTC said that in 15 years of construction and development (31 December 2007 - December 31, 2022), EPTC has always been the focal point for buying electric power from power generation units and wholesale power to power corporations. Specifically, from 28 contracts in 2008, the figure has increased nearly 17 times by 2022, reaching 455 contracts with a total capacity of 64,786.9MW.

EPCT also performed well and promptly calculated the costs of power purchase and summarized the costs of power purchase, weekly power revenue of the Parent Company - EVN, making an important contribution to the evaluation and management of EVN's production and business; showing active coordination in planning the operation of the electricity market.

Promoting the role in negotiating power purchase and sale contracts

Speaking at the conference, EVN’s Vice President Ngo Son Hai emphasized that EPTC needed to promote its function and role as the representative unit of EVN in the negotiation and implementation of power purchase and sale contracts. It is necessary to closely monitor contracts to ensure full implementation of rights and obligations for EVN, especially specific contracts such as BOT and import ones. Payment shall be made accurately and on time; closely monitoring the development of the electricity market, regularly updating actual power purchase costs and cost estimates for the next period so as to give due advice to EVN.

Some plans and targets in 2023 of EPTC:

- Power output purchased in 2023 of power plants under contracts with EVN/EPTC: 184.52 billion kWh.

- Power output sold to power corporations: 252.76 billion kWh.

- Ensuring 100% of documents are correct as prescribed.

- Ensuring the confirmation of the electricity market payment statement and confirming that the output is contracted  100% in accordance with regulations.

- Actively participating in and contributing to developing and improving the competitive wholesale and retail electricity market following the roadmap of the electricity market in Vietnam.
