The project is categorized as a special energy project of Group B, with a total investment cost of more than VND 265 billion. The project is owned by National Power Transmission Corporation, being managed and implemented by NPMB, and then taken over for operation by Power Transmission Company 1.
The installation of AT2 transformer aims to relieve the load of existing 500/220/35 kV - 600 MVA AT1 transformer of the substation and other 500 kV transformers in the region such as Hiep Hoa, Dong Anh, Thuong Tin; securing the safety and reliability of the national grid, meeting economic and social development needs in the region.
The project has been constructed in the reserve land at the existing Pho Noi 500 kV substation in Viet Hung commune, Van Lam district, Hung Yen province.
