Especially, in the last flood season, the water flow to Hoa Binh reservoir was extremely low which caused serious shortage of water from June until the end of September (only equal to 38% of the average flow of many years).

Besides, the company carried out the flood prevention to ensure absolute safety for downstream and the plant; supply sufficient water for irrigation of Spring rice in the Northern Delta; manage to operate the Plant in safety, ensure operation mode as required by the power system; efficiently implement the plans for major repairs and construction investment.
In 2016, Hoa Binh Hydropower Company will continue to promote the role of multi-purposed hydropower, significantly contributing to the accomplishment of all targets and duties of EVN for 2016.
It is expected that by mid 2016, Hoa Binh Hydropower plant will reach the milestone figure of 200 billion kWh.

- Store reservoir water to elevation of 116 m.
- The targets and tasks to optimize costs:
+ Achieving auxiliary power indicators (excluding transformer loss) <0.154%.
+ 5% savings on material costs, out-sourced services and other expenses in cash.
+ 5% savings on overhaul plan for the implementation of work-items completed.
+ Liquidating 100% of on-the-shelf and poor-quality materials and equipment.
+ Availability factor of the plant reaches 92.122%.
