The Conference was held in the afternoon on January 4, 2017 in Hanoi. Mr. Ho Manh Tuan – Deputy General Director of EVNNPC presented that during 2016 EVNNPC conquered a lot of difficulties, challenges in order to operate the power system safely and reliably, to supply sufficiently electricity with ever increasing quality, with the aim of meeting electricity demands for socio-economic development of 27 provinces and cities in the North; fulfilling and even surpassing the set forth objectives and tasks by EVN.

In particular, the power sales was estimated at 51.102 billion kWh, 14.12% increase over the same period of last year; the power loss rate at 6.15%, 0.21% lower than the targeted norm of EVN (6.36%) and 0.53% lower than the same period of 2015.
The access to electricity index achieved at 7.02/10 days; the customer satisfaction index 7.52 points, 0.02 point higher than the targeted one.
The number of customers transferring bill payments via banking system and intermediate agencies accounted for 20.33% of the total customers, or 0.33% higher than the targeted one.
EVNNPC has put endeavors in rural electrification, as of the end of 2016, 99.9% of the communes and 98.6% of the households in rural areas had access to the national power grid.
EVNNPC has taken over power grids in 11 communes and 2 residential groups, basically accomplished take-over of rural low voltage grid so that EVNNPC can sell electricity directly to households. Up to now, 3,476 communes among 4,048 communes (86%) have had bought electricity directly from EVNNPC, i.e the forth criterion regarding electricity of the new rural program has been met.
The Chairman Duong Quang Thanh highly appreciated the efforts made by EVNNPC. He confirmed that “EVNNPC gained the highest sale growth among EVN with the growth rate of 14.12% compared to last year; EVNNPC also achieved the highest work productivity ever (15.7% higher than 2015); power outage time sharply decreased, etc.”
The Chairman Duong Quang Thanh complimented EVNNPC’s efforts on quickly and timely overcoming consequences of natural disasters, hurricanes, floods, particularly timely supplying power to flood control pumping stations.
EVN’s leaders required EVNNPC to address the following outstanding issues: high loss rate, low bill payment collections via banks and intermediate agencies, etc. EVNNPC should enhance investment efficiency of power projects, improve customer services and corporate governance capabilities, etc.
Main indexes of EVNNPC in 2017:
Power sales: 57.7 billion kWh, growing by 12.91%;
Power loss rate: 5.95%, dropping by 0.2% compared to 2016;
Work productivity: ≥ 2.30 million kWh/employee; ≥ 392 customers/employee;
Total capital investment costs: VND 14,668 billion, increasing by 11% compared to 2016.
