Investing over VND236 billion to reform and develop Phu Yen power grid

This is the loan funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for the sub-project of renovation and development of Phu Yen distribution power grid. Phu Yen Power Company (under the Central Power Corporation) has organized the implementation of project since 4/4/2018.

The project shall invest and upgrade, complete the entire 22/0,4kV distribution power grid systems in 65 wards, communes, townships in the whole province, meeting the power  use growth demand (8-10%/year) of Phu Yen province. The capital amount is 4 times as much as the annual investment value of Phu Yen Power Company (Phu Yen PC).

The quantity of construction, upgrading and investment includes 207km of medium voltage line, 194km of low voltage transmission line, 40 transformer stations with the total capacity of over 10,000kVA and 22 sets of Recloser circuit-breakers, 6 sets of switchgears.

According to Mr. Thai Minh Chau, Director of the Phu Yen PC, the power grid in the whole province has been operating over 15 years, with many degraded sections, outdated rural reception power grid. Although the Power sector has annually invested a great deal of capital to rehabilitate and repair, it cannot be synchronized due to the lack of capital and increasing in load demand. 

The project is expected to be accomplished and put into operation before 31/12/2018, ensuring uninterrupted and stable power supply for people, especially to meet the power demand of investors in the coming time, contributing to building the socio-economic development of the locality.
