According to Vice Minister of Industry and Trade Hoang Quoc Vuong, this is the first time the awards ceremony is organized to honor businesses operating in the fields of mining, production, processing, transmitting and distributing energy; businesses operating in the field of renewable energy as well as businesses producing energy saving products. Thereby, renewable energy and energy saving initiatives, technologies, solutions, and the message of green growth and environmental protection have been communicated and conveyed to all sectors of the economy, the community and the whole society.
Through prequalification, final examinations and final certification, the board of examiners selected 61 businesses to give the award of sustainable energy in 2019, including 50 businesses and 11 young businesses meeting the criteria of sustainable energy.
The "Sustainable Energy 2019" award is co-organized by the Department of Energy Conservation and Sustainable Development - Ministry of Industry and Trade and Vietnam Energy Conservation and Efficiency Association (VECEA). This is one of the communication activities within the framework of the National Program on energy conservation and efficiency in the 2019 - 2030 period, which has been approved by the Prime Minister. Expected, the award will be held annually.
