Nearly 92.5% of customers in Ho Chi Minh City pay electricity bills by non-cash means

By the end of September 2019, 92.48% of electricity customers in Ho Chi Minh City paid electricity bills by non-cash means, equivalent to 94.71% of the total revenue of Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC).

In particular, the proportion of customers paying via e-wallet currently accounts for the largest one (37.29%); the remaining customers pay through such forms as automatic debit payment, SMS & mobile banking, Internet Banking, online payment via customer care websites, etc.

EVNHCMC sets a goal that by the end of 2019, more than 95% of customers will pay for electricity without cash.

In order to facilitate customers, EVNHCMC has signed cooperation agreements with 23 banks and 9 intermediary partners, with a variety of payment methods, to offer customers many options. The Corporation has carefully prepared technical infrastructure to promptly meet the needs of expanding and diversifying electronic payment channels of customers.

At the same time, EVNHCMC has kept on pushing up their communication activities to encourage customers to make non-cash electricity bill payments, under the direction of the Prime Minister, in which priority is given to automatic debit from personal account.

Besides promoting non-cash electricity bill payments, EVNHCMC has promoted online electricity services. By the end of September 2019, the rate of online services of EVNHCMC had reached 99.95%, etc.
