Se San Hydropower Development Company is currently managing and operating Se San 4 Hydropower Plant (3x360MW), one of the national key projects, built on the Se San River, located in 2 provinces Gia Lai and Kon Tum.
In the first 6 months of 2023, Se San Hydropower Development Company has implemented consistent solutions to ensure electricity generation in the context of unfavorable hydrological conditions, made an effort to ensure the availability factor, and seriously implemented the technical management. Se San 4 Hydropower Plant has generated more than 450 million kWh in 6 months. In addition, the company has been managing and operating Se San 4 Solar Power Plant (49MWp), producing more than 36.2 million kWh in the past 6 months.

Before the rainy season in 2023, Se San Hydropower Development Company is ready to deploy solutions for disaster prevention. Accordingly, the company has strengthened the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue, and submitted an emergency response plan for Se San 4 dam, reservoir, and Sesan 4A detention basin to the People's Committees of Gia Lai province, Kon Tum province for approval; carried out the operation and regulation of the reservoir according to inter-reservoir and single-reservoir processes, actively monitored and evaluated the water inflow situation to report to the competent authority for reservoir operation; communicated about flood control in the downstream of Se San 4 Hydropower Plant, etc.
Regarding overhaul activities in 2023, Se San Hydropower Development Company needs to perform 12 equipment and facility overhaul works. Specifically, according to Mr. Nguyen Dang Ha - Deputy Director of EVN Power Service Center (EVNPSC), the Center has coordinated with the Company to perform RCM analysis for the main equipment list. At two power plants under Se San Hydropower Development Company, in the first 6 months of 2023, EVNPSC has remedied more than 90% of occurred defects. Regular maintenance activities have been performed as planned, and equipment defects arising during operation have been constantly updated on the PMIS system, and promptly handled during operation.

EVN’s Vice President Ngo Son Hai praised Se San Hydropower Development Company as one of the units excelling in technical management. Se San 4 Power Plant in recent years has not faced any failures that required shutdown. The power plant is requested to maintain their operation in the best condition and not allowed to have failures during operation. At the same time, the plant should strive to fulfill the annual plan with the targets of auxiliary power consumption rate, and planned shutdown for maintenance.
With the RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) method, the leader of EVN acknowledged the good collaboration between Se San Hydropower Development Company and EVNPSC in the past time and requested these units to have an accurate assessment of RCM implementation results, deploying training programs on this method, improving the quality of maintenance workforce.
