Regarding activities overcoming power grid incidents caused by storms and floods:
Storm No. 6 (LINFA) affecting provinces of Quang Nam and Quang Ngai, caused power outages in some communes. Power supply was restored completely on 12 October 2020.
Storm No. 7 (NAGNKA) affecting provinces from Thai Binh to Nghe An, caused power outage of more than 150,000 customers. The last customer in Thanh Hoa province was supplied with power again at 9pm on 14 October 2020.
Typhoon No. 8 (SAUDEL) affecting provinces from Ha Tinh to Quang Tri.
Storm No. 9 (MOLAVE) damaging many devices on the grid. Power supply to nearly 2.4 million customers in Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Da Nang, Quang Tri, Phu Yen, Thua Thien-Hue, Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Quang Binh and Dak Lak provinces was affected. As of 4 November 2020, most of affected customers had been supplied with power again.
Storm No. 10 (GONI) caused power outage for some customers in Binh Dinh, Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa provinces. As of 8 November 2020, power supply was basically restored to affected customers, except for deeply flooded and seperated areas.
Implementation of the target of cashless collection of electricity bills: By the end of October 2020, the percentage of customers making cashless payment of electricity bills reached 68.74%; the percentage of electricity bill amount paid cashlessly reached 90.63%.
Rooftop solar power (RSP) installation: In the first 10 months of 2020, 42,102 RSP projects had been installed nationwide with a total capacity of 1,608.4 MWp; the power energy fed back into the grid reached 637.5 million kWh and VND762 billion had been paid to the customers. Up to now, 64,479 RSP projects have been put into operation with a total capacity of 1,992MWp, and 759.8 million kWh have been fed back into the grid and VND905 billion have been paid to customers.
Regarding investment in construction of power source projects: Se San 4 Solar Power Plant Project (capacity of 49MWp) has been officially connected to the national grid on 5 November 2020. Regarding power grid projects: In October 2020, 16 projects were commenced and ten 110-500kV grid projects were completed and energized (including three 500kV projects, one 220kV project, six 110kV projects). In the first 10 months of 2020, 123 projects have been started and one hundred-and-six 110-500kV grid projects have been completed and energized (including twelve 500kV projects, twelve 220kV projects, eighty-two 110kV projects).
Regarding divestment: 2,650,000 shares of EVNFinance were successfully auctioned and divestment of all EVN's capital at EVNFinance was completed.
Some works and duties of EVN in November 2020
In November 2020, the average power consumption of the whole system is expected at 682.2 million kWh a day, the largest power demand is estimated at 36,823 MW.
Operating objectives of the power system in November 2020: Exploitation of coal-fired and gas turbines power plants giving optimal results of hydropower and thermal power; dispatching at high level hydropower plants with good water inflow and ensuring downstream water supply requirements for localities. Improving availability of power plants; Safe and reliable operation of the transmission grid, especially the North-South 500kV system. Units need to continue to well perform the task of preventing and fighting against Covid-19 pandemic and ensure stable production and supply of power for production, business and daily life activities of the people.
Regarding construction investment: Completion of power generation of Se San 4 Solar Power Plant Project. Focusing on implementing key power source projects including: 500kV line connecting Nghi Son 2 power plant, Hai Duong-Pho Noi 220kV power line to release capacity when the units come into operation; projects serving connection, power supply for testing Van Phong 1 BOT Thermal Power Plant; projects to release renewable energy capacity (installation transformers in Long Phu, installation of Nha Trang-Thap Cham, Ninh Phuoc-Thuan Nam, Da Nhim-Duc Trong-Di Linh, Dong Ha-Lao Bao 220kV power lines, installation of 220kV Cam Ranh, Lao Bao, Van Phong and Phan Ri substations (unit 2)); projects for releasing hydropower capacity in the Northwest region, Nghe An province area, projects serving power purchase from Laos; projects ensuring power supply to Hanoi, the South region and key economic areas (West Hanoi-Thuong Tin 500kV power line, Nho Quan-Phu Ly-Thuong Tin 500 - 220kV power line, installation of 2nd transformer at Viet Tri 500kV substation, My Tho-Duc Hoa 500kV power line, Duc Hoa 500kV substation, Vinh Yen 500kV substation, 220kV branching at Tan Uyen 500kV substation), and so on.
In addition, in November 2020, EVN will continue to direct Power Corporations/Companies to focus on handling power grid incidents caused by storms and floods to urgently restore power supply to customers suffering from power outages; prepare sufficient human resources and facilities, reinforce duty response at 24/24h; proactively responding to natural disasters, storms and floods, ensuring safety for people, equipment, electrical works and dams, hydropower plants, downstream areas of reservoir, etc. Preparation for implementing annual programs: The 6th EVN Red Week and Customer Gratitude Month 2020.
