Project cluster to release capacity of Van Phong 1 BOT Thermal Power Plant reaches finish line

At 9:12 a.m. on December 30, 2022, Van Phong - Vinh Tan 500kV transmission line project and the 500kV transmission line connecting Thuan Nam 500kV substation to Van Phong - Vinh Tan 500kV transmission line was energized. Along with Van Phong 500kV substation and its connection which has been energized since November 2022, the key transmission project cluster to release the capacity of Van Phong 1 BOT Thermal Power Plant has been completed by National Power Transmission Corporation.

Previously, on December 26, 2022, Van Phong - Vinh Tan 500kV transmission line project and the 500kV transmission line connecting Thuan Nam 500kV substation to Van Phong - Vinh Tan 500kV transmission line were tested and accepted to complete all construction items 5 days ahead of the schedule.

Affirmation of executive ability

In order to ensure the completion of the project in December 2022, under the direction of Vietnam Electricity, EVNNPT's leaders daily and weekly hold an online dispatch meeting at the beginning of the day, and at the same time appoint the specialized departments of EVNNPT to follow the site to direct the construction. EVNNPT together with construction units coordinates human resources with the motto of concentrating maximum resources for the project.

Van Phong – Vinh Tan 500kV transmission line

Project cluster to release capacity of Van Phong 1 BOT Thermal Power Plant:

- Investor: National Power Transmission Corporation;

- Project management and operation: Central Power Project Management Board;

- Receiving and operating unit: Power Transmission Company 3

- Total investment: VND 3,652 billion.

Van Phong 500kV substation and its connection:

+ Location: Ninh Hoa town, Khanh Hoa province.

+ Commencement: September 2021.

+ Energization: November 28, 2022.

Van Phong – Vinh Tan 500kV transmission line:

+ The project passes through Khanh Hoa province (Ninh Hoa, Dien Khanh, Cam Lam districts and Cam Ranh city) and Ninh Thuan province (Bac Ai, Ninh Phuoc, Ninh Son, Thuan Nam districts).

+ Scale: New construction of a dual-circuit transmission line about 156.78 km long from Van Phong Thermal Power Plant to Point D (G36A) – Connection point of Thuan Nam 500kV substation to Van Phong 500kV Thermal Power Plant – Vinh Tan Thermal Power Plant.

+ Completion: December 26, 2022.

The 500kV line connects Thuan Nam 500kV substation to Van Phong - Vinh Tan 500kV transmission line:

+ The line passes through Thuan Nam district, Binh Thuan province.

+ Scale: About 1.3 km.

+ Completion: December 26, 2022.
