Electric light shines on the road to village 39, Tan Trach commune
The national grid power supply project for Tan Trach and Thuong Trach communes was launched by Quang Binh province in June 2022.
The project was completed with 6 substations, nearly 45km of medium voltage lines, including 27.5km of underground lines through the core area of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, and 17.4km of overhead lines. During the Giap Thin Lunar New Year, the authorities organized the energization for the two communes.
Currently, all of village 39 (Tan Trach commune) is using national grid electricity, and in Thuong Trach commune, bringing electricity to each house in 8 villages near the center will be completed in April; 10 remote villages will be supplied power from public investment sources in the 2025-2030 period.
According to Quang Binh Power Unit leaders, the biggest difficulty in bringing national grid power to Thuong Trach and Tan Trach communes is the complex terrain and difficult transportation. This power line is also very special, passing through the core area of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, so it must be calculated and absolutely ensure environmental factors and safety for the world’s natural heritage.
In order for people to use the electricity immediately after energizing, the Central Power Corporation and Quang Binh Power Company have allocated more than 300 million VND from its welfare fund to support the behind-the-meter electric system and install equipment in all customers’ houses in Tan Trach commune.
Electricity workers guided electricity supply procedures, provided technical support for behind-the-meter connections, and guided safe electricity use methods to each household.
