Xekaman 1 - Pleiku 2 220 kV line, part in the territory of Vietnam

This event is of special meaning, showing preparedness for transmission interconnection with neighbouring country of Laos to transmit electricity from Xekaman 1, Xekaman San-Xay, Upper Xekong 3, and Lower Xekong 3 hydropower plants to Vietnam, supplying power for socio-economic development in the Southern region of Vietnam.

The project scale is composed of construction of new double-circuit and four-circuit 220 kV transmission lines from Laos - Vietnam border (connecting to the 220 kV transmission line from Xekaman1 hydropower plant to Viet Nam – Laos border line, which is invested and constructed by Laos) to Pleiku 2 500 kV substation. The transmission line passes Ngoc Hoi district, Sa Thay district, Kon Tum city (of Kon Tum province) and Chu Pah district, Lagrai district and Pleiku city (of Gia Lai province).

In addition, the project includes the construction of an optoelectronic repeater expectedly located in Dak Kan commune, Ngoc Hoi district, Kon Tum province and an 80 m-long 22 kV power line to supply power for construction and auxiliary power to the optoelectronic repeater, and the construction of an operation management office for power transmission team expectedly located in Sa Thay district, Kon Tum province.

The total investment of the project is VND 966.162 billion.

As known, Xekaman 1  - Pleiku 2 220 kV transmission line is one of three projects under Pleiku 2 complex project which includes Xekaman 1 (Hatxan) - Pleiku 2 220 kV transmission line; Pleiku 2 500 kV substation; Installation of 500/220 kV transformer in Pleiku 2 500 kV substation and 220 kV connection.
