AT2 transformer at Song May 500kV substation was completed and energized by SPMB at 2:46 pm on December 23, 2022
The increasing capacity project of Song May 500kV substation (Bac Son commune, Trang Bom district, Dong Nai province) is invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation with a total investment of VND 441 billion. Accordingly, the project increases the capacity of 2 500kV transformers from 600MVA to 900MVA, in this phase increasing the capacity of 1 machine (AT2 machine).
With the AT2 just energized to increase the capacity, Song May 500kV substation now includes AT1 - 600MVA transformer, AT2 - 900MVA transformer, AT3 - 250MVA transformer, and AT4 - 250MVA transformer.
Completing the capacity increase of AT2 transformer in this phase contributes to meeting the power demand for the socio-economic development of Dong Nai province and the Southeast provinces, especially when the Lunar New Year is approaching. In addition, the project contributes to releasing the capacity of power plants in the South Central region, including renewable energy power plants; improves the reliability and safety of the power supply for the national power system.
